A choir of banshees fills the night with their song
Mournfully wailing into the skies, the sound greets the whipping winds
There are forces at work that we can’t understand
Death is coming, of that we can be certain
To whom, to how many is the question
Never have we heard so many sing at once
The mist is overtaking the air
Breathing in damp bitterness, the world we know condenses into droplets on the glass
We all saw something different staring out Cameron’s window
To me she walked like a figure of clay, her movements like stop motion
The filthy ballerina dress of the good witch trailing, her eyes locked upwards to the left
A human puppet
Cameron saw the enlarged face of his sleep’s killer, licking where her teeth used to be and feeling for a way in
I don’t know what anyone else saw, they dare not trust me with it
After the song ended we felt the same thing,
We heard the shrieks, we have been marked
